Cannabis Infused Rum

Remember to always dose with caution and be careful when mixing substances!

Take things nice and slow. Go one glass at a time allowing 30 – 45minutes between drinks because it can take some time to feel the effects of both the alcohol and the THC

 // If you are infusing rum with buds/flower //

First things first, DECARBOXYLATION!

Preheat your oven to 250˚F

Using your hands, gently break up your cannabis buds and place it on a baking tray.

Place the tray on the center rack of the oven for 30 minutes.
DO NOT EXCEED COOK TIME!

Let the cannabis cool completely (or chill in freezer for 10 – 15 minutes).
This step is believed to help preserve certain beneficial phytonutrients.

Now, your bud is ready to infuse into any medium!

Immerse the buds in your favorite rum so they are covered completely.

Shake vigorously every day for 3 – 5 minutes.

Store it in a cool, dark place preferably inside a bag so no light creeps in.

The longer you allow the mixture to infuse, the stronger it will be.

After 7 – 14 days there is generally enough cannabis infused in the alcohol to do the trick for most people.

Mindfully strain out all the plant matter using cheese clothes or a coffee filter.

Mix into your favorite cocktail and enjoy!

// If you are infusing rum with a concentrate //

In a pot on the stove top, take your rum and warm it just enough to dissolve and mix in your concentrate. Do not heat so much you evaporate out your alcohol.

Mix into your favorite rum cocktails and you are good to go!
