What You Need
Food coloring
25 Lollipop Sticks (omit sticks and use smaller mold for lozenges)
Candy Thermometer
Ingredients
1 ⁄ 4 tsp. Salt
3 ⁄ 4 Cup White Sugar
1 ⁄ 3 Cup Infused Butter
1 ⁄ 2 Cup Lt. Corn Syrup
Mix the salt, sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring this to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly so it does not harden or solidify.
Next, lower the heat until candy thermometer reads 270 degrees F. Add the Kool Aid and the food coloring. Mix well so Kool Aid dissolves completely.
Place drops of candy mix onto a greased cookie sheet (or lollipop/fudge molds) and place stick, if you are making lollies. You can also leave the stick out of the equation for lozenges.
If the mixture solidifies before you can place on baking sheet, reheat with medium flame and continue making the sweets as before.
Serves ~25 lollipops
